History of the Texas Research Ramblers Genealogical SocietyThe Texas Research Ramblers was organized by Mary Collie Cooper and some her former genealogy students in 1990. Mary taught Genealogy classes through A&MCISD Community Education Program as early as 1977 and later taught classes are her home. Her records indicate she taught 18 Genealogy classes and had a total of 231 students. Since that time the “Ramblers” have presented her 15 lessons to as many as 60 more citizens of the Brazos Valley. Our goals remain the same. Texas Research Ramblers Genealogical Society members are interested in furthering their knowledge of genealogical research procedures to document their family history.
