Czech Genealogical Event Invitation

From: Sara Barton <sarabarton@att.net>
Subject: Texas Czech Genealogical Society

Texas Czech Genealogical Society (TCGS) for most of this year has not held ‘in person’ programs or meetings due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, we would like to provide the following information and would be most grateful if you might share the attached flyers with your patrons and members and send it to your distribution lists, as well as include on your website and/or newsletters and display as appropriate. The Texas Czech Genealogical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The TCGS is promoting the newly published 222 page book, Památník Čechoslováků which contains many photos and stories along with a surname index (see attached book of the month flyer). This would make an outstanding Christmas gift ($48.00, free shipping). For more information and a full list of TCGS publications please see https://txczgs.org under “Store” or the attached TCGS Highlighted Publication List flyer. For book orders please send a check made payable to TCGS along with the book title(s) and number of books you would like to purchase and your shipping address to: Nancy Machu, 3337 Bianco Terrace, Round Rock, TX 78665 or to charge your order call Nancy Machu at 512-971-4284, email nbmachu@gmail.com.

One of the main purposes of the TCGS is to publish books of interest to the Czech genealogical community. Czech Family Histories Volume V is scheduled to be published in mid-year or in the 4th quarter of 2021.. Family stories and photos are being accepted and must be received via email or postmarked on or before January 23, 2021. For inclusion into this publication, contact Charlene Hurta at cmhurta@earthlink.net.

The Oz, a monthly newsletter is published at the beginning of each month. It contains the latest information about our society and is available not only to members of TCGS, but to anyone who requests it. Non-members requesting delivery of the Oz to their e-mail address are asked to send that request to Danny Leshikar – djleshikar@gmail.com.

TCGS offers live webinars several times a year on various topics of interest to the genealogical community, most recently, “How to Research Czech Birth/Marriage/and Death Registers Online - A Practical Lesson with Dr. Miroslav “Mirek” Koudelka” and “Pioneers in The Republic of Texas” with TCGS President, Patrick J. Janis. A $25 membership to TCGS makes these webinars available and you will receive the award-winning quarterly publication, Ceske Stopy, our quarterly publication containing approximately 40 pages of genealogical information. Please see https://txczgs.org, click on "Join," or email us at membership@txczgs.org. Other membership benefits include a secure “members only” area for real-time member contact information; monthly e-mailed Oz newsletter; quarterly Ceske Stopy publication sent via US Postal service; quarterly events and meetings; and website searchable surname list with option to privately contact the TCGS researcher.

Thank you and best wishes for a blessed holiday.
